Business After Hours – Dalby

DISCO was delighted recently to host the Dalby Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event for the month of June.

DISCO Dalby Office Manager Mrs Le-Anne Callaghan commented:

“It’s been more than a year since we registered with the local chamber to host the event so it was terrific to finally welcome the Dalby business community to our office to showcase our premises and allow them to meet our team and some of the young people we have been supporting”.

The function, which was attended by nearly 100 business and community members, allowed visitors to view the DISCO premises, receive information on the specific services delivered by DISCO and learn more about the changing nature of youth employment in the future.

DISCO CEO Mike Paton reminded businesses that DISCO’s services went beyond just supporting young people to progress through and from education to further study or employment but also included how DISCO could partner with businesses to help them develop a workforce development strategy to enable their businesses to undertake longer term staff planning to meet the needs of their businesses both today and tomorrow.

Chamber President Rohan May reinforced to the guests present to take advantage of the information and services DISCO has on offer.

“I was someone that started working in a ‘accidental career’ and better career planning earlier on in my professional life would have made the first few years that I was working even more effective and relevant” he said.
