Adopt-a-School

Adopt-a-School projects stimulate public awareness and support for the active and practical involvement of local businesses in schools' learning programs and builds a positive profile for participating schools, community and industry. A typical Adopt-a-School project is set within a particular industry, runs to a project plan and is very hands-on for the participating students (often in Year 9 and 10) who have been selected and matched with individual industry mentors. Teachers and parents are also closely involved in the project thereby enhancing relationships and resulting in an increased understanding of the career potential of the industry.

Under DISCOís direction we will look to continue and increase the joining up of enterprise education efforts with local businesses leading to the development of employability skills in participating students.
